Something not working in Sling Yard?

How to play

  1. Pull back from the sling and let go, or set the angle with the up and down arrows, the power with left and right, and press Space.
  2. The dotted line shows where the shot goes before it meets anything.
  3. Knock out every teal drum to clear the yard.
  4. Press or tap again while the shot is in the air to use a splitter or a dropper.
  5. Clear a yard in its par for three stars. AGAIN starts it over, YARDS picks one you have opened.
  6. Run out of shots with a drum still standing and the run ends, but the yard is kept.

Controls

Keyboard

  • ↑ ↓ angle, ← → power
  • Space or Enter fires, and again in flight for the shot's trick
  • R starts the yard again
  • M the yards list
  • P or Esc pause

Touch

  • Pull back from the sling and let go
  • Tap again while the shot is in the air to use a splitter or a dropper
  • AGAIN and YARDS sit at the top right of the screen

Controller

  • D-pad or left stick to move
  • A / Cross for action, B / Circle for secondary
  • Start to pause

Tips for a better score

  • Stars go by shots used: par for three, one over for two, anything that clears for one. AGAIN starts a yard over for nothing while you still have a shot, so a wasted first shot costs only time.
  • Glass only breaks when something arrives at speed. A stack can rest on a pane all day, which is exactly why breaking the pane brings the whole lot down at once.
  • Stone weighs about two and a half times what the same lump of timber does, so dropping a slab on a drum does work a direct hit cannot.
  • A drum that falls far enough pops when it lands, so knocking the shelf out from under one counts as a hit.
  • The splitter fans into three when you press again, which is how three separate huts go down in one shot; the dropper slams straight down, for drums tucked behind a tall wall.

About Sling Yard

Sling Yard is a slingshot physics game. A yard of timber, stone and glass stands out against an evening sky, and somewhere inside it are round teal drums with a face painted on. Pull the sling back with a finger, a mouse or the arrow keys, and let go. Everything you hit is a real body with weight and spin: planks splinter, stone is heavy enough to crush whatever it lands on, and glass shatters at a knock and drops what it was holding up. Knock out every drum and the yard is yours. There are twenty-four hand-made yards in four chapters, each with a par. Clear a yard in its par for three stars, one over for two, anything that clears for one, and the panel at the end tells you exactly what the third star would have cost. Some yards hand you a splitter, which fans into three in mid-air, or a dropper, which slams straight down when you press again. Points come from every block broken, every drum knocked out and every shot you never needed. Run out of shots and the run ends, but the yard you reached is waiting next time.
