Terms of use

Effective date: 10 September 2026. Version 1.0.

These terms are the agreement between you and AroraLabs for using RetroWorld. They are short because the Site is simple: free games and activities, no accounts, no purchases on the Site itself.

1. Who we are

RetroWorld (retroworld.fun, the "Site") is operated by AroraLabs, an independent software studio based in Australia ("we", "us", "our"). Contact: hello@retroworld.fun.

2. Agreeing to these terms

By using the Site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. If you are under 18, you may use the Site only if a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf; nothing on the Site requires you to give us personal information to play.

3. What you may do

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable licence to access the Site and play the games and use the activities in your browser for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment. That is all the licence covers.

4. What you may not do

You must not:

• copy, download, redistribute, sell, or host the games, activities, code, artwork, sounds or text elsewhere, or embed them in another site or app, without our written permission;
• remove or alter any credit, notice or link on the Site;
• use bots, scripts or automated tools to load pages, generate plays or interact with the Site, or attempt to interfere with its operation, security or measurement;
• attempt to reverse-engineer the Site for the purpose of reproducing it;
• use the Site in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights.

Personal, non-commercial use such as sharing a link, posting a screenshot of your score, or streaming yourself playing is welcome.

5. Our content and your scores

The games, their names, artwork, sounds, code and all text on the Site are owned by AroraLabs and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Every game is an original work; general game mechanics are not owned by anyone, and the Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any other game, publisher or console maker.

Your scores, settings and activity results are stored only in your own browser (see the Privacy Policy). We do not hold them, cannot restore them if you clear them, and make no promise that they will survive browser updates or changes to the Site.

6. Donations

The Site links to our Ko-fi page. Donations made there are voluntary gifts made to support the Site; they buy nothing, unlock nothing on the Site and create no obligation on us. Donations are processed entirely by Ko-fi under Ko-fi's own terms, and any refund question must be raised with Ko-fi. Nothing on the Site itself is sold.

7. Third-party links

The Site links to Ko-fi and to aroralabs.org. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

8. Analytics and advertising

The Site measures visits as described in the Privacy Policy, and Google Analytics runs only if you accept it. The Site does not currently show advertisements. If advertising is introduced, these terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated first. Clicking any future advertisement repeatedly or using automated tools to load them is prohibited.

9. Availability and changes

The Site is provided free of charge. We may add, change or remove games, activities and features, and may suspend or discontinue the Site, at any time without notice. We may also update these terms; the effective date at the top will change, and continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not promise that the Site will be error-free, uninterrupted or compatible with every device or browser.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AroraLabs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of data (including scores), loss of profit or loss of enjoyment, arising out of or in connection with the Site, even if advised of the possibility. Because the Site is free, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the Site is limited to AUD 20.

Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where such a guarantee applies and the law permits, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law in your country.

12. Indemnity

If your breach of section 4 causes a claim against us, you agree to compensate us for the reasonable costs and losses that result.

13. Termination

We may block or restrict access to the Site for anyone who breaches these terms, without notice. You may stop using the Site at any time; clearing your browser's site data removes everything the Site stored on your device.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you additional protection, those protections still apply to you.

15. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site.
