Tips for a better score
- Pick one corner for your biggest tile and keep the row beside it full, so that row can't shift and drag the big tile out.
- Merges are the only way to score, each worth the new tile's value, so one merge into 512 earns more than a hundred merges of twos.
- Avoid the direction that pulls your biggest tile away from its corner; if you're forced into it, try to slide it back on your next move.
- A swipe that moves nothing doesn't count and adds no tile, so if you're unsure whether a direction will shift anything, trying it costs nothing.
About Double Up
Double Up is a sliding number puzzle on a four-by-four board. Every swipe slides all the tiles one way; tiles with the same number merge into one and double. A new tile appears after each move. Reach the 2048 tile to win, or keep going for a higher score until the board locks up.
