Tips for a better score
- The ball only smashes through after a long fall. Two clean gaps in a row charge it, and the ring after that is smashed whatever is on it, orange included.
- A smash costs the charge, so the next ring down has to be read and turned for like any other one.
- Chains are where the points are: each ring in a chain is worth ten more than the last, up to seventy, so three clean gaps beat six separate bounces.
- A tower's gaps spiral one way for a stretch at a time. Once you have the direction, keep turning that way and only correct when the spiral doubles back.
- Landing on a cream segment is always safe, so if the gap is too far away, take the bounce and line it up on the way back down.
About Coil Fall
Coil Fall is a falling-ball arcade game set inside a tall spiral tower. The tower is built of cream rings, each cut into twelve segments with a gap somewhere in it, and a glossy ink ball bounces down the middle. You never move the ball — you turn the whole tower, by dragging with a finger or holding the arrow keys, until a gap swings under the ball and it drops a floor. Every ring you get past scores, and passing several in a row without touching one builds a chain worth far more. Some segments are burnt orange and hatched with diagonal lines: land on one and the run is over. Fall far enough without touching anything and the ball charges, and the next ring is smashed straight through, orange segment included, its pieces spinning off into the dark. There are twelve hand-tuned towers, each deeper and meaner than the one before, and a real floor at the bottom of each; clearing all twelve finishes the run. Endless opens once three towers are behind you and keeps building new ones until the orange gets you.
