Something not working in Dominoes?

How to play

  1. The highest double starts the line. Then take turns laying one tile.
  2. A tile must match the number on one open end. Tiles that fit are lifted.
  3. If nothing fits, draw from the boneyard until something does. Boneyard empty: pass.
  4. Go out first to score the pips left in the other hands. Blocked: the lowest hand scores.
  5. First to 100 points wins. Tabs at the top switch between the machine and 2 to 4 players.

Controls

Keyboard

  • ← → pick a tile, Space or Enter plays it
  • ← → then Space choose the end when a tile fits both
  • Z draws from the boneyard, or passes
  • ↑ from your hand reaches the tabs; M changes the table
  • P pause

Touch

  • Tap a lifted tile to play it
  • If it fits both ends, tap L or R on the table
  • Tap the boneyard on the left to draw
  • Pass and play: tap to uncover your tiles when it is your turn

Controller

  • D-pad or left stick to move
  • A / Cross for action, B / Circle for secondary
  • Start to pause

Tips for a better score

  • Get rid of heavy tiles early. If someone else goes out, every pip you still hold is a point for them.
  • Doubles only open one number, so they are the tiles most likely to get stuck. Lay them while their number is still on the table.
  • Keep a spread of numbers in your hand. A hand full of one number is the one that ends up drawing.
  • Count what has been played: when six tiles of a number are on the table, the seventh can never be followed.

About Dominoes

Dominoes is the traditional draw game with a double-six set of 28 tiles. Two players get seven tiles each, three or four players get five, and the rest lie face down in the boneyard. The highest double sets the line, then each turn you lay a tile whose number matches one of the two open ends. Nothing fits? Draw from the boneyard until something does, and pass once it is empty. Empty your hand first to score every pip left in the other hands. If nobody can play, the hand is blocked: the lowest pip count wins it and scores the other hands, and a tie for lowest scores nobody. First to 100 points wins the match. Play the machine, or pass one phone between two, three or four players, with each hand covered until its owner taps to look.
