Tips for a better score
- Look at the target's last digit first. It often tells you which multiplication has to be in the answer.
- Making a big number early is usually right: multiply two middling tiles, then take away to close the gap.
- Undo is free and unlimited. Trying a line and stepping back costs nothing but the moves counter, which is not scored.
- Matching the fewest moves pays three hundred, far more than a hint saves you, so reset and think rather than ask.
About Target Number
Target Number gives you a handful of number tiles and one target. Pick two tiles and an operation and the answer replaces them both, until a single tile is left showing the target. Every result stays a whole number and never drops below zero, so a division only works where it divides exactly. Each board is built by working a real solution backwards, so it can always be finished, and the fewest moves are shown beside your own. Undo and reset cost nothing; a hint costs points and only works before you have moved. The boards grow from four tiles to six as you go.
