Controls

Keyboard

  • Space to answer
  • P to pause

Touch

  • Tap the answer tile

Controller

  • D-pad or left stick to move
  • A / Cross for action, B / Circle for secondary
  • Start to pause

Tips for a better score

  • The wrong tiles are near misses, so check the last digit first: eight times seven ends in six, and only one tile will.
  • A streak is worth more than speed. Five in a row doubles what each answer pays, so slow down rather than guess.
  • Adding and taking away never crosses a hundred or goes below zero, so an answer outside that range is always a wrong tile.
  • Missed facts are listed when time runs out. Play the same kind again and those are the ones worth watching for.

About Maths Sprint

Maths Sprint is a sixty-second mental arithmetic round. Choose times tables from two to twelve, adding and taking away with numbers up to a hundred, or a mix of both, then answer as many as you can from four tiles. Every right answer in a row raises what the next one is worth, from ten points up to thirty, and a wrong one shows you the fact you missed before the next question arrives. The wrong tiles are the mistakes people really make — one out, ten out, the next row of the table — so a guess by size rarely works. When the clock runs out the round ends with everything you got wrong listed to practise.
