How to play

  1. Pick Gentle, Steady, Sharp or two players.
  2. A and D run, W jumps. Player two uses the arrows.
  3. One player can use either set of keys, or the mouse.
  4. Head the ball over within six touches; it must not land on your side.
  5. First to 15, two clear points ahead.

Touch

  • Tap a card to pick a match
  • One player: the D-pad or joystick runs, Jump jumps

Tips for a better score

  • Aim with your feet, not your timing: stand a little behind the ball so it comes off the far side of your dome and heads over the net.
  • Run into the ball rather than waiting under it. Your own movement is added to the hit, so a moving blob sends it harder and flatter.
  • Six touches is the limit on your own side, and the dots above your blob count them. A rally past thirty seconds also thickens the air until the ball drops.
  • A two-player match banks nothing, so a friendly game cannot pad your best score. Only a match against the machine pays, and Sharp pays three times what Gentle does.

About Blob Volley

Blob Volley is a court game for one or two people. Two half-circle blobs share a sunny court with a net between them, and each can run, jump and head the ball. Where the ball meets the dome decides where it goes, so a blob can aim, and running into the ball hits it harder. Let the ball land on your side and the other blob takes the point. You may keep the ball up as much as you like, but by the sixth touch it must have crossed the net. First to fifteen wins, two clear points. Play the machine at three levels, or a friend on the same keyboard.
