How to play

  1. Press Space to start the power meter, then press again to stop it.
  2. The float lands in the shallows, the weed bed or the deep water.
  3. When the float dips under, press at once to set the hook.
  4. Hold to reel in, let go to ease off, and keep the tension inside the band.
  5. Press ↓ to pack up and bank the day's points.

Tips for a better score

  • The power meter chooses depth, not just distance: the shallows, the weed bed and the deep water each hold a completely different set of fish.
  • Wait for the float to shiver and throw rings before it goes under. Strike on the shiver and you spook it; strike on the dip and it is yours.
  • A common fish gives you nearly a second to set the hook and a legendary one under half. Holding the line down the whole fight always snaps it.
  • Once a fish has bitten once, the album lists the hours, weather and lures it wants, so look there before you change depth or change bait.

About Pond Fishing

Pond Fishing is a quiet collecting game on an imaginary pond. Every cast has three parts: stop the sweeping power meter to choose your distance, set the hook in the short window when the float dips, then hold and ease the line to keep the tension inside the safe band until the fish is in the boat. Forty-eight invented fish live here. Each one belongs to the shallows, the weed bed or the deep water, bites at certain hours, likes certain weather and takes certain lures, and the album remembers what a fish wants once it has bitten you once. The hour comes from your own clock and the weather from today's date, so everybody is fishing the same pond today. Six lures unlock as you earn coins. Press Pack up when you have had enough.
