How to play
- Pick eight-ball or nine-ball, against the machine or for two players. Up and down set the machine's level.
- Break from behind the line: drag the white ball where you want it, then pull back from it and let go.
- Aim at a ball you are allowed to hit first. The dotted line and ghost ball show the first contact; a cross means that ball is the wrong one.
- Pot one of your balls to keep the table. Miss, and it is the other player's turn.
- A foul (the white ball potted, nothing hit, or the wrong ball hit first) gives the other player ball in hand anywhere.
- Eight-ball: clear your group, then pot the black. Nine-ball: hit the lowest ball first every time, and pot the nine to win.

Tips for a better score
- Pull back along the line you have already set and the aim stays exactly where it was; pull well off that line and the aim follows your finger instead.
- Draw (the spin dot low on the diagram) brings the white ball back after a straight hit, and follow (dot high) sends it on. With no spin, a straight hit stops it dead.
- In eight-ball, potting the black before your group is cleared, or on the same shot as a foul, loses the rack on the spot. The black potted on the break just goes back on its spot.
- Against the machine you bank 10 points for every ball of yours you pot (the nine is worth 50) and 150, 300 or 500 for winning the rack against Gentle, Steady or Sharp. Two-player racks bank nothing.
About Cue Table
Cue Table is pool on a teal baize with a walnut rail, for one player against the machine or two people passing one screen. Play eight-ball, where the first ball you pot makes you solids or stripes and the black must go last, or nine-ball, where you must always hit the lowest ball on the table first and whoever pots the nine wins. Drag back from the white ball to aim and pull for power, or aim with the arrow keys and hold Space. A dotted line shows where the white ball will first meet another, with a ghost ball at the point of contact. Put follow, draw or side on the white ball with the small spin diagram. The balls roll with real friction, come off the cushions with most of their speed, rattle in the pocket jaws and drop when they are rolling true. A foul gives the other player the white ball in hand anywhere on the table. The machine plays at three levels, Gentle, Steady and Sharp, and plans every shot by playing it out first.
