How to play

  1. Move the claw along the rail and stop it over a prize.
  2. Read the line under the glass: the prize, its finish and the exact chance the claw will hold it.
  3. Drop. The claw goes down, closes and lifts. If it holds, the prize goes down the chute into your album.
  4. You have fifteen seconds to aim before the claw drops by itself.
  5. Three free plays every day. Open the album to see all thirty-six figures and the claw's numbers.

Controls

Keyboard

  • ← → move the claw (hold)
  • Space or Enter drops it
  • ↑ or Z opens the album
  • ↓ leaves the practice claw
  • P pause

Touch

  • Hold the arrow keys under the glass, or hold a finger on the glass, to move the claw
  • Tap DROP to drop it, and ALBUM at the top to see your figures

Controller

  • D-pad or left stick to move
  • A / Cross for action, B / Circle for secondary
  • Start to pause

Tips for a better score

  • Line the claw up dead centre. The chance to hold falls away evenly the further off centre you are, and nothing more than 15 steps away is within reach.
  • Wait for the swing to settle. The claw sways on its cable when it starts or stops, and the hold chance you see moves with it.
  • A common figure held dead centre never slips. A rare one held dead centre holds 77 times in 100, and a gold one 61 times in 100.
  • A new prize is common 72 times in 100, rare 22 and gold 6. Every figure is equally likely.
  • A win scores 10 for common, 40 for rare and 150 for gold, plus 25 for a figure and finish your album has never had.

About Claw Cabinet

Claw Cabinet is a glass prize cabinet with a claw on a rail and a row of little matte figures on the floor: a tin robot, a die, a rocket, a teapot, a cassette, a lava lamp, a rotary phone, a joystick, a trophy cup, a paper plane, an alarm clock and a yo-yo, each in a common, rare or gold finish. You get three free plays every day. Slide the claw along, watch it swing on its cable, and drop it. The claw is honest and says so: it grips harder on rarer prizes, the screen shows the exact chance it will hold the prize under it before you drop, and that number is the one used. Whatever it holds drops down the chute into your album, and a new prize takes its place. Your album and the cabinet are kept on this device and never lost by staying away. When the day's plays are gone, a practice claw plays by the same rules and puts every prize back.
