Tips for a better score
- The fewest moves double with every disc: seven for three discs, fifteen for four, and two hundred and fifty-five for eight.
- Work out where the smallest disc goes first. If it always steps the same way round the three pegs, the rest follows.
- An odd number of discs starts by going to the far peg; an even number starts by going to the middle one.
- Show Me plays the perfect solution, but a tower solved with help earns no stars and no time bonus, so save it for the eight.
About Disc Tower
Disc Tower is the centuries-old tower puzzle: move a stack of discs from the left peg to the right one, carrying a single disc at a time and never resting a bigger disc on a smaller one. A run is six towers, from three discs up to eight, and each one counts your moves against the fewest possible — two to the power of the discs, less one — for up to three stars. From six discs up there is a clock, and what is left of it is paid as a bonus. Undo costs a few points, and Show Me will play the perfect solution if you would rather watch it once.
