How to play

  1. Steer with the arrows, WASD or a swipe.
  2. Light every lantern to clear the maze.
  3. Four owls hunt you, and you have three lives.
  4. A moon-fruit turns them pale — catch them for far more.
  5. Each maze cleared builds a new one, a little faster.

Controls

Keyboard

  • ← ↑ ↓ → or WASD steer
  • P to pause

Touch

  • Swipe to steer — a short flick is enough
  • The D-pad and the joystick both steer as well

Controller

  • D-pad or left stick to move
  • A / Cross for action, B / Circle for secondary
  • Start to pause

Tips for a better score

  • Press your next turn before you reach the junction. The direction waits and is taken the moment a corridor opens, so corners never need exact timing.
  • The owls differ: Chase follows your cell, Ahead aims four cells in front of you, Roam wanders your way, and Corner only chases within five cells.
  • The side tunnel wraps from edge to edge and owls crawl through it at about half speed, so it is the best place to shake off a close chase.
  • After a moon-fruit, catch owls without pausing: 200, 400, 800 then 1,600. The pale spell runs eight seconds at level one and shortens as levels rise.

About Lantern Maze

Lantern Maze is a night chase through a hedge maze. You carry the lantern that lights the corridors, and the maze is cleared once every lantern along it is lit. Four owls hunt you from a hedged pen in the middle, each with its own rule: one follows your cell, one aims ahead of you, one wanders your way, one guards its corner until you come close. A moon-fruit turns all four pale and frightened, and catching them then pays 200, 400, 800 and 1,600. A side tunnel wraps from one edge to the other. Every maze is built fresh with no dead ends, and each one runs a little faster. Three lives.
