Tips for a better score
- Flash pays on reaction: a hit near a quarter of a second is worth about 140, and anything slower than nine tenths of a second is worth the base 30. Rest the cursor near the middle between marks and nothing is ever far away.
- In Pinpoint a shot that hits nothing takes 1.2 seconds off the clock and lets the mark grow back a little, so waiting half a beat to be sure costs less than a fast miss.
- Drift pays 40 points a second while you are on the mark and 60 once you have held it for 1.2 seconds without slipping, so one long steady hold beats a string of quick catches.
- Four hits in a row in Sort raises what each one pays, up to double at sixteen. Hitting a square ends that run, costs 40 points and locks you out for half a second.
About Pin Sharp
Pin Sharp is a set of short accuracy drills on a dark range board, and a run is three of them, thirty seconds each. Flash puts one mark on the board at a time: hit it and the next lands somewhere else, and the faster you get there the more it pays. Pinpoint shrinks the mark with every hit until it is barely wider than the cursor, and a shot that hits nothing costs a second of your clock. Drift sends one mark wandering and asks you to hold the cursor on it, banking points while you stay on it and more once you have held it steady. Sort mixes round marks to hit with barred square ones to leave, and hitting a square costs points and a short wait. The three drills change every day and are the same for everyone, so today's score is worth comparing with yesterday's. Each drill keeps honest numbers of its own: your best, how many of your shots landed, and the mean time between a mark appearing and your hit. A mouse, a thumb, the arrow keys and a stick all drive the same cursor.
