Tips for a better score
- Stay off the squares diagonally next to an empty corner. Taking one usually opens that corner to the machine, and it values corners above everything else.
- Your final score is ten points for every disc you own plus 500 for a win, so once victory is safe, keep flipping as many discs as you can.
- Don't grab the biggest flip early on. Owning lots of discs mid-game gives the machine more moves, and it plays to squeeze your choices down.
- Faint dots mark every legal move, and tapping anywhere else does nothing, so a mis-tap costs you nothing. On a keyboard the cursor wraps around the edges.
About Reversi
Reversi on an eight-by-eight board against a machine that plans a few moves ahead and loves the corners. Place a disc so that enemy discs sit between it and one of yours, and they flip to your colour. When neither side can move, the player with more discs wins.
