Tips for a better score
- When more than two free tiles share a face, match the ones sitting on other tiles or closing off a row end, since those free up the most.
- Matches made within about four and a half seconds of each other build a combo that lifts a pair from 20 points to as much as 120.
- When the board says it is shuffling, you have about a second to press Undo and keep that shuffle; each one unused at board clear is worth 150.
- Press Z again while a hint is lit and the cursor hops to the other tile of the pair, with no second charge.
About Tile Pairs
Tile Pairs is a matching solitaire played on a stack of ivory tiles up to four layers deep, laid out as a pyramid, a flower, a bridge or a fortress. A tile is free when nothing lies on top of it and its left or right side is open, and you remove free tiles two at a time when their faces match. Every board is dealt so it can be cleared, but the order you take pairs in matters, and a careless match can leave you stuck. Quick matches in a row build a combo, and clearing a board earns a bonus and a new shape.
